According to the Election Commission, 22 crore ballot papers were printed in the 2018 general elections and 800 tonnes of special security paper were used to print them, while 26 crore ballot papers were printed for the 2024 elections, and 2,170 tonnes were used to print them. Paper is used.

The statement said that the reason for the printing of more ballot papers is the increased number of candidates, which is one and a half times more than in the 2018 elections. According to the spokesperson of the Election Commission, during the process of printing the ballot papers, several challenges were encountered at various stages, including court cases and large number of candidates.

He said that despite these challenges, the commission fulfilled its responsibilities within a limited time and by printing the ballot papers on time, it ensured that all the voters might exercise their right to vote in the February 8 general elections.
