∙ Eligibility criteria for applications

1. Annual family income should be less than 2 lakh rupees (order issued on 12 February 2019)

2. Life style diseases (diabetes, high blood pressure) and other common diseases will not get financial assistance.

3. A person who has received financial assistance once can reapply only following 2 years. However, additional assistance may be provided within this time limit in cases that are absolutely deserving.

4. If the grant is for surgery, the date of surgery should be mentioned in the medical certificate.

District Collector Rs.10,000

Special Secretary Rs.15,000

25,000 to the Revenue Minister

Chief Minister Rs.3 Lakhs

(Finance assistance of more than 3 lakh rupees is sanctioned with the approval of the Cabinet.)

Required Documents: Along with the application, a copy of the ration card containing the name of the beneficiary, first page of the bank pass book, medical certificate issued by the treating doctor within 6 months in case of medical assistance, copy of FIR, copy of postmortem report and copy of death certificate in case of financial assistance for accidental death should also be uploaded on the portal. The application must be submitted within one year of the accidental death.

∙ Online Procedure for Application:

The application is received and processed through the web portal www.cmo.kerala.gov.in.

Modes of Submission of Application Online: 1. Directly to Applicants 2. Through Akshayakendras 3. Through Offices of MPs and MLAs 4. By Post to Chief Minister’s Office

The applications submitted online are received by the village officer in the inbox of the beneficiary list in the cmo portal for verification.

The Village Officer ensures that the required documents are enclosed with the applications and that the bank account number and IFS code are correct.

The valid application is verified and handed over to the Tehsildar following certifying the identity and income limit.

If there are insufficient documents, applications should be moved to the missing document queue. The deficient documents related to the applicant will be collected and forwarded to the Tehsildar.

Applications falling under the purview of any other Village Office will be forwarded to the CMDRF Help Desk using the Revert option if received incorrectly.

Tehsildars will scrutinize applications received from village offices. If any defects are found, it will be clearly recorded and returned to the village officers using revert option for rectification. A valid application will be forwarded to the Collector.

District Collectors will scrutinize the applications received from the Taluk Offices and reject those which are not eligible for financial assistance. The District Collector himself can grant medical assistance up to Rs.10,000.
