The main event of spring – this is how the series “The King and the Jester” was designated on the Web, which caused so many expectations. As a result, the fans were disappointed not only in the project, but also in the musicians of the KiSh group. So was the series worth the time to watch it at all?
Definitely yes. If we take the King and the Jester project as an experiment, then it will be an interesting experience. At a minimum, people who are not familiar with the work of the band can search and see what the musicians have actually done over the years of their existence. Fans continue to insist that in the first series, or in the seventh, pre-final episode, it is very, very difficult to watch either a biopic, or a semi-documentary, or the fantasies of the director and screenwriter on the topic.
The sixth episode was cut short by the fact that bassist Baloo, who was sorely lacking in the series, left the King and the Jester. In addition, in the last episode it was shown that Andrey Knyazev, nicknamed the Prince, is almost ready to go into a solo project, as he believes that his work is being devalued. The conflict between the two frontmen reaches its climax in the seventh episode, when Andrey really decides to take his mind off the group’s affairs – especially since Pot at that time was just carried away by the production of the musical “Sweeney Todd”. In the series, they treated some facts from the biography of the musicians a little negligently.
The relationship between the Prince and Pot deteriorated even more in the series following Misha began to make fun of his friend’s work. “Chatushki” – this is how Pot dubbed Andrey’s songs. In addition, “Korol i Shut” begins to travel to the same cities with concerts in which the “KnyaZz” group performed – of course, the fans went to the familiar Gorshka, and not to Knyazev with his new musicians. As a result, Andrey announces his departure from KiSha.
Probably, the seventh episode was supposed to amaze the audience with drama. However, in fact, everything remains the same: Knyazev is a misunderstood, betrayed, abandoned lyrical hero, and Gorshenev, who, by the way, has finally been coded, was portrayed as a local villain. By the way, in the fairy-tale part of the episode, everything is different: the Pot goes to save the Prince who has fallen to the sorcerer.
In general, we can say that the series really became an event. For several weeks now, there have been heated debates on the Web regarding episodes, the history of the group, and so on. In addition, Andrey Knyazev and his wife are now experiencing a second wave of popularity, they are giving interviews and will rest on their laurels as creative producers of the project for a long time to come. However, many viewers believe that “the Prince has soiled the memory of a friend” by allowing the series to be released in the form in which we saw it.
