The Prime Minister recognized Kon Tum city as a grade II city

Pursuant to the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on urban classification; Considering the proposal of the Ministry of Construction and the People’s Committee of Kon Tum province, the Prime Minister recognized Kon Tum city as meeting the criteria of a class II urban area with most of the standards having reached or exceeded the maximum level.

The recognition TP Kon Tum to be urban type II under the province will create a driving force for the North Central Highlands city to develop more strongly in the coming time, to build a civilized and modern urban area and a better and more comfortable life for urban residents.

Over the past time, Kon Tum City has continuously made efforts to invest in urban infrastructure construction, synchronously implemented measures to promote socio-economic development and achieved positive results.

Specifically, economic growth reached 13.32%, the economic structure developed in the direction of gradually increasing the proportion of construction industry; the rate of poor households decreased to 2.33%; the rate of non-agricultural workers in the whole urban area is 66.75%; the average residential floor area per capita is 29.07 m2/person; the rate of permanent and semi-permanent houses reached 96.3%. The main streets are 100% illuminated; the percentage of houses and alleys with lighting reached 69.64%.
