His Excellency the Prime Minister, Mr. Muhammad Bilal Masoud, chaired today, Monday, at the Prime Ministry, a meeting of the Ministerial Committee in charge of following up on private mining in the country.
The meeting was devoted to reviewing the progress of the implementation of the recently approved action plan to organize and frame indigenous mining in the states of Brakna, Gourgel, Lasaba and Kedi Maga on the one hand, and dealing with the risks posed by this activity on the population, the environment and natural resources on the other hand.
After reviewing what has been achieved of the action plan and the various challenges facing this activity, His Excellency the Prime Minister instructed the concerned sectors to expedite the implementation of the action plan mentioned and to deal with various risks to ensure the preservation of the environment, the natural environment and the health of citizens.
