The blue dollar presented a slight drop in its price at the close of this Monday, after the announcement of the agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the commitment to pay US$2.7 billion to the organization through a combination of loans. This agreement, communicated on Friday, includes government intervention in the market to try to control the exchange rate gap.

The blue dollar was quoted at the close of this one at 550 pesos for sale, one peso less than last Friday’s close.

The Central Bank had net purchases for US$177 million today

The BAnco Central bought today US$177 million in the single free exchange market (MULC)which marked the sixth consecutive round with a positive balance, in a day in which the agricultural dollar contributed liquidations for US$118 million, leaving a negative consolidated balance of US$375 million in July.

Today’s result is givenn the framework of the measures announced by the Ministry of Economy to strengthen the reserves, by increasing from $300 to $340 the differential exchange rate for exports from regional economies until August 31, through decree 378/2023 published in the Official Gazette.

In the monthly balance, the Central bought some US$832 million on the dollar wheel, while on the yuan wheel it sold some 8,624 million (around 1,207 million dollars).
