the price of the games will also increase from 2023, all the details

Sony PlayStation will no longer be the only manufacturer to be singled out for the rise in prices that video games have suffered in recent months. Indeed, in an article posted by IGN.com a few minutes agoit is announced that Microsoft will increase the price of these first-party games from $60 to $70 in the United States, starting in early 2023. Games such as Forza Motorsport, Redfall and Starfield will cost 69 $.99 at launch, knowing that they will also be available on Xbox Game Pass the same day. “This award reflects the content, scope and technical complexity of these titles”a Microsoft spokesperson told IGN, before adding: “As with all games developed by our teams at Xbox, they will also be available with Game Pass the same day they launch.” At this stage, it is not known if other countries will be affected by this price increase, but there is a good chance that the rest of the world will follow the same trajectory. If this increase is applied in France, we should therefore expect to see games costing the sum of €80 for exclusive titles on Xbox Series.

This decision is not really a surprise in the sense that Phil Spencer had remained evasive regarding the increase in prices at its competitor Sony announced last August. It remains to be seen now whether the hardware and other services will see their prices rise in turn, we are obviously talking regarding consoles and the Xbox Game Pass. Given the current confoncture, we do not see why Microsoft would refrain from doing like everyone else…
