Refinitiv data showed that the Egyptian pound reached a level of 18.32 pounds to the dollar, slightly higher than the level of 18.35 pounds to the dollar recorded on Wednesday.
This is the highest level for the Egyptian pound since the tenth of April, when it recorded 18.30 pounds to the dollar.
The average price of the dollar in Egypt, according to the data of the Central Bank of Egypt website this morning, remained at 18.27 pounds for purchase, 18.36 pounds for sale, which are the same prices as yesterday.
In the National Bank of Egypt, the largest government bank, the price of the dollar remained at 18.28 pounds for purchase, and 18.34 pounds for sale.
At Banque Misr, the same rates were repeated by the National Bank.
The price of the dollar stabilized at the Commercial International Bank, at about 18.29 pounds for purchase, and 18.36 pounds for sale.
The foreign exchange market in Egypt is awaiting the next meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Central Bank of Egypt, scheduled for next Thursday, May 19, to determine interest rates on the pound.

The price of the euro in the National Bank of Egypt remained at the level of 18.98 pounds for purchase, and 19.31 pounds for sale, yesterday.
At Banque Misr, the price of the euro stabilized at about 18.95 pounds for purchase, and 19.31 pounds for sale.
At the Commercial International Bank, the price of the euro remained at about 19.06 pounds for purchase, and 19.33 pounds for sale.
Also, the average price of the pound sterling, in the banking market, according to the Central Bank of Egypt, remained at about 22.31 pounds for purchase, and 22.43 pounds for sale.
The prices of the riyal, dirham and dinar today in Egypt
The average price of the Saudi riyal, according to the Central Bank of Egypt website, settled at 4.87 pounds for purchase, and 4.89 pounds for sale.
In the National Bank of Egypt, the price of the Saudi riyal was about 4.87 pounds for purchase, and 4.88 pounds for sale.
At Banque Misr, the same rates as the National Bank are repeated.
The price of the Saudi riyal at the Commercial International Bank remained at about 4.86 pounds for purchase, and 4.89 pounds for sale.
