The dollar exchange rate set a new record, the first in the history of the Lebanese pound, exceeding 40,300 pounds.
The exchange rate of the dollar rose today, Wednesday, October 19, on the black market, by about 200 to 250 pounds at once. This continues its upward trajectory for weeks.
The price of the dollar today ranges between 40250 pounds and 40350 pounds, amid the absence of any positive indications to curb the rise of the dollar and push it to decline against the pound.
Yesterday, Tuesday, the trading volume on the Sayrafa platform amounted to 60 million US dollars, at a rate of 30,100 Lebanese pounds per dollar.
