The informal currency market in Cuba continues to show variations, according to the most recent data shared by the platform el Toque. Today, Tuesday, the main foreign currencies experienced new changes in their quotations.
In the last 24 hours, the US dollar has registered a new decrease of three pesos, placing its average price at around $340.00 CUP. A drop that can be seen in the purchase and sale offers from which the Toque prepares its representative exchange rate for the informal market.
The euro, for its part, has remained stable around $350.00 CUP over the last 24 hours, showing a pause in the fluctuations it has had in previous days.
However, the Freely Convertible Currency (MLC) has experienced a fall of five pesos, now trading at $295.00 CUP. Breaking with the long stability it had shown at the threshold of $300.00 CUP, and falling once more below it.
The continued devaluation of the national currency and high inflation in Cuba continue to be factors that cause fluctuations in exchange rates. However, the supply and demand of foreign currency in the informal market are the two determining factors.
