The price of gas takes off by 60% and pulverizes its all-time high

According to the Bloomberg news agency, the price of gas in Europe exploded on Wednesday, its course made particularly nervous following the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. On the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, which acts as a reference in this area, the price of a megawatt hour took off by 60% to reach 194 euros. The previous peak, dating from December 2021, was 181 euros.

Fears of a shortage of Russian gas, following the sanctions imposed on the invading country of Ukraine, are putting pressure on the market.
