The price of gas in Europe continued to fall on Tuesday, for the fourth session in a row. It hit its lowest price since late July.
On the Dutch futures market, the price of gas fell by more than 6% on Tuesday morning, to 170 euros per megawatt hour. However, it remains seven times higher than the normal annual average.
The measures taken in many European countries to combat the energy crisis seem to be bearing fruit, writes the financial news agency Bloomberg. Large consumers, such as Germany and the United Kingdom, have reduced their dependence on Russian gas.
The European Commission is also working to develop new measures. European gas reserves are also regarding 86% full (and even 90% in Germany), which is slightly better than the five-year average.
