The price of electricity will rise again this Sunday and will recover 200 euros per MWh

The average price of light in the wholesale market will rise this Sunday by 5.7% compared to this Saturday and will once more exceed 200 euros per MWh, specifically up to 201.34 euros, according to the Operator of the Iberian Market of ‘Electricity (OMIE). For this Saturday, the price was set at 190.41 euros following four consecutive days of declines at the beginning of the week. The most expensive strip will be between nine in the evening and ten at night, with 249 euros per MWh, while the lowest strip will be between five in the morning and six in the morning. If you compare the price with the same day last week, this Sunday will be 5.5% cheaper.

Despite standing at 201.34 euros per MWh, the price of light in the wholesale market is far from the record figures of December, with prices above 300 euros per MWh and with peaks exceeding 400 euros MWh .

On the other hand, in relation to January 23, 2021, the average price of electricity in the wholesale market continues to skyrocket, as at that time it stood at 27.5 euros MWh, seven times less.
