The price increase of the iPhone 15 is confirmed

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will likely be more expensive than previous Pro models. We should see the first price increase since the iPhone X.

In a research note published this week, the analyst Jeff Pu predicts that the iPhone 15 Pro models will see their price increase due to several hardware improvements. These include a titanium frame, solid-state buttons with haptic feedback, an A17 Bionic chip, more RAM, a periscope lens for increased optical zoom on the Pro Max model, and more. .

First increase since 2017

As a reminder, in the United States, prices have remained more or less stable for several years. For example, the Pro model started at $999 since the iPhone X was released in 2017, while the Pro Max started at $1,099 since the iPhone XS Max launched the following year. Price still valid today.

A price increase in the United States is plausible given above-average inflation rates. Apple has managed to keep starting prices unchanged for six consecutive generations of Pro models, but prices will likely have to rise someday for the company to maintain its margins. It is not yet known whether the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will also see their price increase compared to the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, which start at $799 and $899 respectively.

Too much increase?

Outside of the United States, Apple has hiked the price of iPhones multiple times in recent years, largely due to foreign currency fluctuations. In Belgium, this $999 went from 1,159 euros to 1,329 euros with the iPhone 14 Pro. We must therefore expect a nice increase in the price of the new range of iPhones. Will she be the one too many? Answer in the next few months.
