The President’s Health Adviser: Monkeypox is transmitted from human to human, and is not a fatal disease

Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, Advisor to the President for Health and Preventive Affairs, confirmed that monkeypox disease is transmitted from animal to human and also from human to human, through direct or indirect mixing, pointing out that the symptoms of the disease are heat, then a rash begins in the face and spreads in parts of the body.

Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din indicated, during a telephone interview on the “Cairo Talk” program, with the journalist Khairy Ramadan, that there are 12 countries that have recorded cases of infection and 82 cases of monkeypox so far, adding: “Monkeypox is not a fatal disease, and the disease is also viral, not an epidemic.” world up to this point.

He continued: “We cannot say that monkeypox is a global epidemic and the disease is viral, and it is a viral disease and not a global epidemic until this moment, and in a tightening that is happening in airports and ports to prevent the transmission of the disease to prevent the intrusion of monkeypox, and we need to closely monitor any animals coming from abroad.”
