PRESIDENT Joko Widodo (Jokowi) admitted that he would soon sign regulations on increasing performance allowances (tukin) for employees of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. However, the President admitted that he had not received the documents for the tukin increase.
“I will sign it when the item arrives at my table, not yet tonight. It hasn’t arrived at the table yet, but it’s already a little bit longer, so when it arrives at my table I will sign the allowance,” said President Jokowi on his birthday. 79th Anniversary of Mining and Energy, at the Kempinski Hotel, Jakarta, Thursday (10/10).
Jokowi admitted that he could have said that the document had been signed. However, he preferred to be honest that the document had not been signed.

“Actually, I could just say, I have signed it. But I don’t want to, not yet, so I have to say what it is. I haven’t signed it yet because it hasn’t arrived on my desk,” he explained.
Furthermore, the President confirmed that he would immediately sign a legal umbrella for the increase in tukin when it arrived on the table. The reason is, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia continues to encourage him to sign it immediately.
“As soon as I sign the allowance, I will inform the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources as soon as possible,” he stressed. (J-2)
