According to the presidential decree, the powers of this judge will be suspended until the decision of the Court of Honor of Judges comes into force, and if the Court of Honor of Judges proposes to dismiss D.Grizickas from his duties, until the decision on dismissal comes into force.
As reported by the National Judicial Administration on Friday, the Judicial Ethics and Disciplinary Commission initiated a disciplinary case once morest this Vilnius City District Court judge due to his negligent work and other work deficiencies and referred it to the Court of Honor for Judges.
The Council of Judges assessed D.Grizick’s behavior and, in order to prevent greater damage to the operational efficiency of the criminal process and the hearing of the case, asked the president to suspend his powers.
According to the Council, the aforementioned judge was reprimanded last year, but he continues to perform his duties clearly negligently, the shortcomings of his work have acquired a systemic nature, the professional activity of the judge does not ensure the proper implementation of the requirements of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
Last year, the Honorable Court of Judges stated that D.Grizickas violated the norms established by the Code of Ethics of Judges by repeatedly failing to properly perform his duties as a judge, as well as by failing to organize his professional activities in such a way that the cases were examined in the shortest possible time.
D.Grizickas examines administrative and criminal cases in the district court of the city of Vilnius, he has been a judge since 2011.
District court judges are appointed and dismissed by the president with the approval of the Council of Judges.
