The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, signed a law that lowers the age of mobilization from 27 to 25.
About this testifies card of draft law 9281 on amendments to the Draft Law of Ukraine “On Military Duty and Military Service”.
It was adopted back in May 2023, since then it has been under the signature of the President of Ukraine.
Today, the website of the Verkhovna Rada states that the law “was returned with the signature of the President of Ukraine.”
The draft Law of Ukraine “On Military Obligation and Military Service” was developed at the initiative of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the aim of reducing the age limit for citizens to be on the military register of conscripts from 27 to 25 years of age.
Previously, Ukrainians aged 18-27 were subject to conscription for military service. With the adoption of the law, it will be possible to mobilize more young people to the Armed Forces.
We will remind that in June 2023 the Draft Law of Ukraine “On Military Duty and Military Service” was signed by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk.
As reported by ArmyInform, the demobilization of conscripts called up before the start of a large-scale invasion began in Ukraine.
