If Mr Zelensky visits Brussels, it will be Zelensky’s first EU visit and his second foreign trip since the conflict in Ukraine broke out almost a year ago.

In December 2022, Mr. Zelensky visited Washington, met with President Joe Biden and delivered a speech to the US Congress.

Earlier, the European Council announced that the EU summit would take place from 9-10 February.

Leaders of state and government of EU countries will discuss issues of economy, migration, as well as continued support to Ukraine in the current conflict.
