The president of the Canary Islands postpones his visit to Morocco

The President of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, announced on Tuesday February 14 in the Parliament of the archipelago that his official visit to Morocco, initially scheduled for February 16 to 21, will be postponed to March 15 and 16 due to a ” agenda adjustment” with Rabat.

He noted, moreover, that the visit of the presidents of the Canary Islands to Morocco is consecrated as a tradition, stressing that he will be accompanied by the president of the Parliament of the Canaries Gustavo Matos, and about twenty businessmen. The objective is to strengthen commercial relations and open new avenues of cooperation in several sectors of activity. For its part, the Moroccan delegation will be led by the head of government with the participation of the head of diplomacy.

Torres insisted on the importance of good relations between the two parties, especially with regard to border territories such as the Canary Islands.

Remember, Angel Victor Torres told the Spanish media that good neighborliness with Morocco is of particular interest to the Canary Islands, for “many different reasons”, including, he explained, “international, commercial and economic and the control of migratory flows”.
