Finnish President Sauli Niinistö said that Prime Minister Sanna Marin’s proposal to transfer decommissioned Hornet fighters to Ukraine was not discussed with anyone. Finnish Defense Minister Antti Kaikkonen said that Ms. Marin had not discussed this issue with him or with the commander of the Defense Forces, General Timo Kivinen.

“This issue has not been discussed with anyone,” Sauli Niinistö told STT (translated from Interfax). “Marin didn’t talk to me regarding this idea beforehand. I would warn her,” Antti Kaikkonen told Iltalehti newspaper.

During a visit to Kyiv on March 10, Sanna Marin said that Finland might discuss the transfer of decommissioned Hornet fighters to Ukraine.
