The president is ready for different nominations for ambassadors to Poland, says the adviser

“Concerning the Polish ambassador. There was no agreed candidacy, within the Overseas Affairs Committee, by the best way, the chief adviser on international coverage points, the top of the group gave the explanations (why the candidate was not appropriate – BNS), and, I feel that the members of the committee heard within the Seimas, there’s a request to current an alternate candidate and that’s awaited”, – Frederikas Janson, advisor to the president and head of the Communications Group, instructed Lietuvos ryto tv on Sunday.

“We wish to see different candidacies,” he repeated.

In keeping with F. Jansons, G. Nausėda doesn’t have a candidate for the aforementioned place.

“No, the president doesn’t have his personal candidate,” stated the adviser.

“Clearly, consultations will proceed between the Ministry of Overseas Affairs and the Presidency, and the ambassador shall be appointed,” he added.

Lithuania has not had an envoy in Poland for the reason that starting of September final 12 months, when Eduard Borisovas was recalled from his place after the top of his time period. The embassy is at present headed by Minister Plenipotentiary Audronė Markevičienė.

Minister of Overseas Affairs Gabrielius Landsbergis instructed reporters that he submitted his candidacy within the fall of 2022, however G. Nausėda didn’t imagine it.

Representatives of the Ministry of Overseas Affairs instructed journalists that they’re ready for arguments as to why the candidate isn’t appropriate.

Ambassadors are appointed by the President on the proposal of the Authorities, with the approval of the Overseas Affairs Committee of the Seimas.
