President Yoon Seok-yeol and first lady Kim Kun-hee attended the ‘Lord’s Christmas Day Mass’ one day before Christmas on the 24th.
President Yoon and his wife attended the Christmas Mass held at Yakhyeon Catholic Church in Jung-gu, Seoul that evening and celebrated the birth of baby Jesus, said Lee Jae-myeong, deputy spokesman for the Presidential Office.
President Yoon said at this meeting, “(Jesus) was born in a barn and laid in a manger to save all the poor.” It was all made by the Word,” he said.
“Jesus said the truth will set you free, and that truth is the word of Jesus,” he said. “The most important thing in Jesus’ words is to love my neighbor as myself.”
President Yoon said, “In the end, I believe that love and solidarity for our community sets us all free and guarantees the prosperity and peace of our community.” I will do my best for Christmas so that I can achieve it.”
Yakhyeon Catholic Church began as a hanok public office where fellow Catholics who had been hiding due to persecution of the Catholic Church gathered and gave catechism classes.
