The President accepted the resignation of Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan

President Dr. Arif Alvi accepted the resignation of former senior judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Ijazul Hassan. Former Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan was third in seniority and was to become the 30th Chief Justice of Pakistan in October.

On Thursday, the senior judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Ijazul Hassan, resigned from his post and sent to the President Dr. Arif Alvi under Article 206-1 of the Constitution.

In his resignation, Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan had declared it an honor for him to work as a judge in the Lahore High Court, Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court and as a judge of the Supreme Court, and the reason for his resignation was that he was a judge of the Supreme Court. But they don’t want to work anymore.

On Friday, the President of the State has accepted the resignation of former Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan on the advice of the Caretaker Prime Minister. Former Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan was third in seniority and was supposed to become the 30th Chief Justice of Pakistan in October, but upon his resignation, along with the membership of the Supreme Judicial Council and the Judicial Commission, the committee of the three senior-most judges of the Supreme Court. It also changed.

Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, a part of the Supreme Judicial Council and the future Chief Justice of Pakistan, will now be Justice Yahya Afridi as a member of the Judicial Commission.

It should be remembered that two judges of the Supreme Court have resigned in two days, before former Justice Ijazul Ahsan, former Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi has also resigned.
