Based on the findings of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic, a preventive and security action took place in Valdice Prison on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Units from several prisons were called to cooperate. The event ended with a negative result, the preparation of the rebellion was not confirmed. Immediately after the discovery of suspicions of inciting a riot in the prison and the possession of unauthorized dangerous objects by the convicts, the crisis team at the General Directorate was called, as well as the crisis team of the Valdice Prison.
Several units from nearby prisons were called in and extensive searches of persons and parts of the Valdice Prison facility were started. The whole event lasted five hours.
Preventive-security actions or cooperation exercises are held at irregular intervals across all prison facilities. And that be only within the members and employees of the prison service, possibly also in cooperation with other security forces.
These actions are implemented with the aim of preventing potential threats or minimizing their impact.
