Music plays an even greater role in aging, according to a survey conducted by the University of Michigan, as it can improve mental health and contribute to stimulating and revitalizing the mind, according to the studyfinds website.

2,600 people between the ages of 50 and 80 participated in the survey, and 75% of them said that music helps them relieve stress and relax, while 73% believe that music brings them happiness, and 65% view music as a source of improved mental health and better mood.

60% of survey participants use music to motivate and energize themselves, while 31% said that music helps keep the mind sharp, according to the Emirati website 24.

“Music has the power to bring joy and meaning to life. It is woven into the fabric of existence for all of humanity,” said co-researcher Dr. Joelle Howell.

Most participants reported that they listen to music, with 85% listening to songs at least several times a week, 80% having watched music performances on television or the Internet at least several times during the past year, and 41% having attended at least a few live music performances during the past year. .

Older adults with higher incomes and higher education tend to attend more concerts.
