In Yverdon, particularly in the operating rooms of the Etablissements hospitaliers du Nord Vaudois (hHnv), hypnosis is already a common practice.

It was “completely bearable,” says Aargau resident Daniel Gisler, who had the operation last week without narcosis or painkillers. It was only thanks to hypnosis that he overcame the intervention of a surgical team from the Baden Cantonal Hospital (AG) who removed the plates and screws from his tibia and fibula. This is the first operation on a hypnotized patient in Baden, the cantonal hospital said on Tuesday. Before the intervention, Daniel Gisler allowed himself to be immersed in a hypnotic state for more than forty minutes using his own sound recordings. Last fall, the 55-year-old completed training as a hypnotherapist.
