the postman throws his smartphone into the pool, “I don’t know if I’ll get my money back”

In Maaseik, in the north of the country, Joeri Nysen, 30, had ordered a smartphone and was due to receive it the next day. The €340 mobile phone was delivered by PostNL, but when Joeri wanted to retrieve it, he was unable to do so despite having received notification of the postman’s visit.

It turns out that the latter threw the package over the railing of the young man, and that the package fell directly into Joeri’s inflatable pool, where there was obviously a bottom of water. “I complained immediately and PostNL took good note of it, but explained to me that Telenet was responsible for the parcel and that it was up to them to compensate me,” he explains.

A solved story

“I had to send the package back, which I did via PostNL and then urgently ordered a new smartphone because I absolutely needed it. I received it well, but I never heard of the reimbursement of the old one. I am still waiting for an answer to find out if I will get my money back, ”laments the young man.

The reason Joeri had to wait so long to have his money color reviewed is because he didn’t go through the standard procedure, which resulted in the smartphone ending up in a warehouse in Boom, and not directly to the following-sales service. But Joeri’s wait ended up paying off, as he was reimbursed and also received chocolates from Telenet, which naturally made him smile.
