A Neapolitan pizzeria in Washington congratulated President-elect Donald Trump on social media, hoping to boost business. Instead, it unleashed the wrath of the Internet, leaving the owner, Mariya Rusciano, stunned. “Menomale Pizza”, like many other restaurants and pubs in the capital of the United States, regularly offers happenings for the night of the presidential elections, themed cocktails for the candidates and there are even those who openly support one party rather than another by displaying signs.
The renowned pizzeria, not far from the Sanctuary of the Immaculate Conception and the Catholic University of America, in the heart of Little Rome, the Italian neighborhood of Washington, decided to make a gesture appreciated by its loyal customers. Mariya Rusciano thus tagged the White House and the president-elect on X. “The people have spoken. @realDonaldTrump won the popular vote and the electoral college. Congratulations! Can we give @WhiteHouse a nice wood-fired Italian pizza oven?,” he wrote. A deluge of criticism came down which projected the Italian restaurant into the international spotlight, leaving everyone astonished.

**Interview with Dr. Maria Rossini, Climate Scientist**
**Editor:** Thank you for joining us today, Dr. Rossini. It’s great to have you here to discuss the recent findings concerning climate change and its impacts.
**Dr. Rossini:** Thank you for having me. I’m glad to shed light on this important topic.
**Editor:** Let’s dive in. Your recent study highlights dramatic changes in climate patterns. Can you summarize the key findings for our audience?
**Dr. Rossini:** Absolutely. Our research indicates that because of rising global temperatures, we’ve observed increased frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, including hurricanes, droughts, and floods. Furthermore, the data shows that these changes disproportionately affect vulnerable communities.
**Editor:** That sounds alarming. What are some of the implications of these findings for public policy and community planning?
**Dr. Rossini:** The implications are significant. Policymakers need to prioritize climate resilience in infrastructure planning, and there should be a stronger emphasis on sustainable practices across all sectors. We also need to invest in educating communities to prepare for these changes.
**Editor:** You mentioned vulnerable communities. How can they be better supported in adapting to these climate shifts?
**Dr. Rossini:** It’s crucial to enhance support through funding for adaptation projects, increasing access to information about risks, and ensuring that communities play a role in decision-making processes. Empowering local voices leads to better outcomes.
**Editor:** What role do you believe individuals can play in addressing climate change?
**Dr. Rossini:** Every individual has a part to play, from reducing waste to advocating for policy changes. Simple actions, such as conserving energy and supporting renewable resources, can collectively make a significant impact.
**Editor:** what message do you want to convey to our audience regarding climate action?
**Dr. Rossini:** I want to emphasize that while the situation is urgent, it is not hopeless. We have the tools and knowledge to drive change. Collective action and perseverance are key. Together, we can forge a sustainable future.
**Editor:** Thank you, Dr. Rossini, for sharing your insights today. It’s clear that while challenges lie ahead, there is also hope for positive change.
**Dr. Rossini:** Thank you for the opportunity to discuss this vital issue.
