A source in the Egyptian Football Association revealed that the Portuguese Duarte Gomez is close to assuming the position of Chairman of the Referees Committee of the Egyptian Football Association in the coming period, to succeed the Englishman Mark Clattenburg, who recently left his post.
The Board of Directors of the Egyptian Football Association decided to accept the resignation of Mark Clattenburg and assign legal affairs headed by Counselor Mohamed Al-Mashata in the Federation to take the necessary measures to preserve the rights of the Federation and the consequences of his resignation in accordance with the terms of the concluded contract.
It is scheduled that the next few hours will witness the official announcement by Football Association officials that the retired Portuguese referee will assume the presidency of the Referees Committee.
