The police were informed about Høiby’s trip to Italy in advance

– The police carried out an initial questioning of Høiby on Tuesday evening this week. We do not inform about what he has said in questioning or how he stands up to the charge, writes police inspector Henriette Taxt Røstadli of the Oslo police in a press release.

More interrogations are planned, and the police are in dialogue with the defense attorney about this, she says.

– The police were aware that the accused was going to Italy. New interrogations were and are not planned during the period he has been away, says Røstadli.

On Wednesday it became known that Høiby had traveled to Italy, the day after he was questioned by the police for the first time in the investigation of the case. It is not known when a new hearing will take place.

His defender Øyvind Bratlien stated that Høiby traveled on his own advice. The defender also simultaneously rejected claims that Høiby was going to Italy to attend the wedding of Øysten Stray Spetalen’s son Kristian Spetalen.

Unchanged charge

The police confirm that the charge against Høiby is unchanged. Høiby is charged with bodily harm and damage. Last week, it was extended to also apply to threats.

Two of Høiby’s ex-girlfriends, Juliane Snekkestad and Nora Haukland, have the status of offended in the case. A third woman was given the status of offended, and it is she who is charged. Høiby has not been charged in the other cases, says the police inspector.

– The police have interviewed Snekkestad and Haukland, who have both chosen to explain themselves to the police. In this connection, we would like to emphasize that in cases involving violence in close relationships, it is often necessary to shed light on events that have passed over time. It is therefore not unusual for interrogations to be carried out over several days, says Røstadli.

Answers to blood tests

They also add that they have received answers to blood tests that were taken by Høiby, and they will submit the results to him. Høiby himself has admitted to having taken cocaine in connection with the situation that was the starting point for the arrest and the charge.

– Serious accusations have been made in the case. It is necessary for the police to spend time investigating several incidents, which must have happened over time, adds Røstadli.

– The police want calm about the investigation, but will inform the public when there is something new to report.
