The police make revelations about one of their agents, author of the video which has gone viral, and announce legal proceedings

In a video made public and quickly going viral on social networks, we clearly see a police officer deploring the working conditions within the national police.

Following this amateur video, widely shared on social networks, the National Police issued a press release to make revelations regarding this agent operating in Tambacounda before announcing legal proceedings. Here is the full press release!

“Following a video circulating through social networks featuring a uniformed police officer who discusses food and fuel supply issues, the National Police would like to provide clarifications.

Indeed, it is a police officer on duty at the central police station of Tambacounda whose misconduct and bad way of serving were noted by his direct superiors.

His breaches of the rules of discipline earned him the application of internal punishment measures to bring regarding his amendment. Without leave of absence, he abandoned his post on May 14, 2023 and refused to return to service despite numerous warnings. The latest investigations have revealed that he is currently abroad.

In view of these very serious facts, which, in the light of the law, are qualified as desertion, the National Police will draw all the necessary legal consequences.

Thus, on the basis of discipline and respect for the hierarchy, the disciplinary procedure provided for this purpose will be implemented and the military court seized, for a rigorous application of the sanctions provided for by the statute of the National Police.
