Justin Timberlake’s much-hyped arrest on June 18, 2024, for driving under the influence of alcohol in New York’s Long Island area, Edward Burke Jr.’s attorney spoke at the hearing.
“The most important fact to know about this case is that Justin was not drunk and should not have been arrested for DUI,” his lawyer initially said.
“The police made a number of very important mistakes in this case, but Justin respects law enforcement and the very important work they do,” the 43-year-old singer’s lawyer claimed in the New York headquarters, as he did not provide the ” present” in the room, since it was not mandatory.
“He was not drunk and they made a mistake when they arrested him. We are confident that this charge will be dismissed.”
The beloved singer and former member of NSYNC was arrested on June 18, 2024, after officers saw him “burning” a STOP sign and struggling to stay in the right lane of the road.
When the police checked him, they found that the singer had “red” eyes, smelled of alcohol and spoke very slowly.
Justin Timberlake admitted to officers that he had only had “one martini” and refused to take a breathalyzer test.
The singer will be brought to court for a hearing on August 2.
