Four bomb alerts, including one at the airport, were recorded in Chisinau on Sunday, the day on which a new anti-government protest organized by ȘOR, the party of the pro-Russian oligarch Ilan Șor, takes place. Since the beginning of the demonstrations, 54 people “with questionable behavior” have been detained. In fact, the Police previously announced that they foiled a plan to destabilize the country set up by Russia.
Recently, the American intelligence services declassified information according to which Russia will try to overthrow the pro-European government in Chisinau by orchestrating so-called protests. In fact, Andrian Cheptonar, PAS deputy in the Chisinau Parliament, said on Saturday, for B1 TV, that the Republic of Moldova is in the midst of a hybrid war, and Russia’s intentions are known. Cheptonar also stated that “we have a collaboration with the services of the partner countries, we are quite well informed regarding what is happening and we process the situation quite well”.

The police of the Republic of Moldova announced that the people who came to the protest “show aggressive behavior towards the law enforcement officers”. Moreover, at the beginning of the demonstrations, 54 people were detained for identification and documentation, including 21 minors, “with questionable behavior and prohibited items in their possession”.
The demonstration, as in all the last months, is organized by the party of Ilan Şor, a pro-Russian oligarch on the sanctions list of the United States and Great Britain. He now lives in Israel, where he fled following a conviction in the Republic of Moldova.
The ŞOR party is a “Russian agency” and “a criminal group”, claimed PAS deputy Andrian Cheptonar, for B1 TV.
Russian plan to destabilize the Republic of Moldova, foiled
Incidentally, the Police of the Republic of Moldova announced that they foiled a Russian plan to destabilize the country. Viorel Cernăuțeanu, head of the General Inspectorate of the Police of Moldova, claimed that the organizers of the so-called protest had the objective of stirring up chaos, and “disabled people who had no discernment were going to create certain actions”.
“There are specialized services from outside Moldova that want to destabilize the country”, Cernăuțeanu accused.
He then explained that their undercover agent infiltrated the operation came into contact with a citizen of Moldovan and Russian citizenship, coming from Russia, who was going to train in relation to destabilization actions. He had a passport in which he changed his surname several times.
“There were to be 10 groups of 5-10 people who had to be accommodated in Chisinau at several addresses. The person from Russia had to go to each address, do the briefing and was in touch with the person from Russia who was coordinating”, he also claimed, according to local media.
Those persons were to receive sums of even 10,000 dollars, the head of the Police also said.
On Saturday, 25 people were picked up for statements.
Viorel Cernăuțeanu also stated that there are also links with the Wagner mercenary group. Moreover, the Border Police also announced that a Wagner representative tried to enter the Republic of Moldova before Sunday’s protest.
“Opposition parties from Moldova are also involved in this process. We are also looking at who is organizing today’s protests, when the destabilizing action was supposed to take place”, Cernăuțeanu also declared.
