Madrid, Feb 7 (EFE).- The Police do not believe that there is a rebound in the aggressions carried out by the Latin gangs despite those that have occurred this weekend in the Madrid Community. Even so, it is going to redesign the operation that has been deployed since December once morest these groups to affect the most “sensitive” areas.
This was explained to Efe by sources from the Madrid Police Headquarters when referring to the investigations opened into five attacks that occurred this weekend, in which two young people aged 15 and 25 have died and three others have been seriously injured. all of them with machetes. Three occurred in Madrid in a space of just one hour and two in the town of Parla almost simultaneously.
The investigations of the investigators have ruled out throughout this morning that the two attacked in Parla, near a nightclub, are related to Latin gangs, since the event was due to a fight that took place inside the premises previously.
The sources specify that the attacks with machetes this weekend have been a coincidence in time and there is no rebound in the activity of the Latino gangs, a problem that in any case always worries the Police.
In fact, last December the Superior Police Headquarters launched the Hispanic operation to intensify the work once morest youth gangs, which at the moment has resulted in more than a thousand identified, more than a hundred arrested and the intervention of numerous weapons.
Now that operation is going to be redesigned to see where the police intervention has to be intensified.
Police sources have told Efe that there are times when there are young people who are not officially members of Latino gangs but “flirt” or are sympathizers, and in fact following the crime of a minor on Atocha street, several followers of Los Trinitarios have posted videos in tribute to the deceased.
The sources demand greater vigilance and involvement on the part of parents and educators so that minors do not immerse themselves in these groups.
After the events of the weekend, the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, expressed his concern, although he reiterated a message of calm and recalled that Spain is a safe country.
For his part, the Minister of the Presidency, Justice and the Interior of the Community of Madrid, Enrique López, has requested a meeting on Monday with the Government delegate in Madrid, Mercedes González, to take joint measures to deal with the attacks that have been produced this weekend.
