The police believe the arson in Aurskog was ordered by a criminal network

It was on 25 June that the house of a family of four in Aurskog in Romerike was set on fire. The family escaped without injury.

– The investigation points to a commissioned mission from a criminal network, says police prosecutor Marit Aurdal in the East police district to NRK.

She will not say anything more about what the police know about the network or the motive for the order.

A Swedish 19-year-old and a Norwegian man in his 30s arrested and charged with the attempted arson. There is currently no clear connection between the Swede and the Norwegian, according to Aurdal.

– It seems that the Swede has been given the task of carrying out the order. We have also chosen to charge the Norwegian with complicity, but we are still investigating his exact role in the incident, says the police attorney,

The police are sure that several people were involved in the incident. Aurdal says they have a good picture of who the others involved are, but will not say anything about why no one other than the Swede and the Norwegian have been arrested.

A man in his 40s who lives in the house that was attempted to be set on fire has previously received threats of arson and violence. This man was wearing a burglar alarm when the arson attempt took place.
