It was a little after 9pm on Saturday evening that the police received a report of a stabbing at the bus station on Landmannstorget in Skien.
Two men aged 24 and 21 have been arrested and charged in the case. The victim was flown to Ullevål hospital with what were described as critical injuries, but on Sunday he is out of danger.
– I do not know anything about his condition beyond the fact that he can speak and seems to be able to carry out an interrogation, says assistance lawyer Bjørn Henriksen to NRK.
Found object after the incident
The 24-year-old pleads not guilty and expects to be released, says the man’s defender, lawyer Farid Bouras, to the channel. It is not known how the 21-year-old responds to the charge.
– He is ready to be questioned and wants to have it done as soon as possible, says his defender, lawyer Tollef Skobba, to The cairn.
The police confirm to NTB that it has been decided to arrest one more person, but on Sunday evening the person in question has still not been arrested. They do not want to disclose the gender and age of the person in question at this time.
The police have found some kind of stick after the stabbing. The police have not seized any weapons, but say there is reason to believe that at least one knife was used in connection with the incident.
Interrogated
All three accused are known to the police from before, says on-call lawyer Ole Jacob Garder in the Sørøst police district to VG. He says that the police so far have no idea about either the sequence of events or the motive for the stabbing.
The police attorney says that they are in the process of questioning one of the two arrested.
– Several interviews were conducted today, and he is still being questioned. Going forward, we will take the usual investigative steps, such as obtaining video surveillance from the scene, as well as consider whether we should carry out a survey in the area of people who may have information about the case, says Garder to the newspaper.
The other person will probably be questioned on Monday. The police say the two will probably be produced for remand on the same day.
