The man has been detained for 14 days with full restrictions. The imprisonment order is withheld from the public.
– My client has explained himself, but I cannot go into what he has said, says the defender.
The person does not understand the charge.
– He believes he has done nothing wrong, says Haug.
The police security service (PST) has been informed of the arrest.
– I can confirm that PST has been kept informed of the investigation, says senior adviser Eirik Veum to NRK.
Police action last week
The police carried out an operation on Andenes on Thursday last week, writes the local newspaper VOL.
The action is connected with the investigation into the possible data breach, the police confirm to the newspaper.
On 6 June, PST and the Norwegian Armed Forces held a meeting with local businesses on Andøya where they warned of an increased risk of espionage at Andøya air station and the space centre.
In February, it became known that Andøya will be the center of a new military collaboration between Norway and countries such as the USA, Great Britain and Japan, linked to satellite launches.
ISAR Aerospace produces launch vehicles that can launch satellites into orbit around the earth, and is building its own launch platform on Andøya.
