Beneficiaries can choose accommodation from the Register of Providers, while the ferry tickets are also subsidized. As for the new program for the period 24-25, the submission of applications is expected to start within the next few weeks.
Employed and unemployed people can take affordable holidays all year round through the Public Employment Service’s Social Tourism programme. Beneficiaries who received the relevant gazette in 2023 and have not yet used it, must activate it by June 30.
In fact, last April 8,575 social tourism vouchers were activated, while according to the data of the Public Employment Service, the beneficiaries preferred as destinations the South Sector of Athens, Evia and Ioannina.
Regarding the new 2024-25 program, it is expected to open in the coming weeks, towards the end of May.
Social Tourism: The benefits offered by the program
Remember that social tourism subsidizes up to six nights depending on the accommodation, the beneficiaries pay a small contribution.
Their participation is zero and up to ten nights for holidays in Leros, Lesvos, Chios and Kos.
Up to 12 free nights for those who choose holiday accommodation in Rhodes, North Evia, Evros and Samos.
Let’s also remember that the ferry tickets are also subsidized. Thus, the beneficiaries of the program pay 25% participation, while those with many children pay 20%, while participation is zero for people with disabilities.
