The platform has been “opened” to support businesses affected by frost

Support through myBusinessSupport is for olive mills, fig businesses and businesses affected by frost.

Today (17.03.2023) the myBusinessSupport platform was opened for the special support regimes for olive mills, fig businesses and businesses affected by the frost.

As stated in a statement by the responsible Deputy Minister in addition to the Prime Minister, Christos Triandopoulos, the joint decisions of the Ministers of Finance and Development have been published, with which the myBusinessSupport platform is opened for three special business support regimes, following a relevant recommendation by the Governmental Committee for State Aid.

The AADE platform accepts applications for the support of olive mills indirectly affected by the 2021 summer fires, North Evia fig processing, packaging, storage and marketing businesses indirectly affected by the 2021 fires, as well as businesses which were indirectly affected by the frosts of the same year.

According to the same announcement, regarding the first two regimes, the platform is reactivated, so that it is possible to submit expressions of interest, and in a second stage, applications and supporting documents. For the aid scheme for businesses affected by the frosts of 2021, and for the areas identified by ELGA, a second round begins, with the submission of an expression of interest, with updated inclusion criteria and taking into account the possible inclusion of businesses in the first round of aid which was completed in 2022.

It is recalled that during the first phase of implementation, 31 beneficiaries were granted 1,081,781 euros through the support scheme for olive mills, in the prefectures of Arcadia, Achaia, Evia, Ilia, Laconia, Messinia, Fthiotida and Phocis, and through the support scheme for fig businesses in North Evia was awarded to two beneficiaries with an amount 51,086 euros, while through the first cycle of the support scheme for businesses indirectly affected by the frosts, 98 businesses were subsidized with an amount of 6,450,390 euros, in the prefectures of Imathia, Kastoria, Kozani, Larissa, Pella and Florina.

It is clarified that the interested parties who wish to join the support scheme for olive mills in the areas that suffered losses aggravated by the fires of the summer of 2021 and the support scheme for companies processing, packing – storing and trading figs, which suffered financial losses aggravated due to the fires of 2021 in North Evia, they should submit an expression of interest on the myBusinessSupport platform from March 9 to 13 2023, while from March 16 to March 20 they will have to submit an aid application, also on the myBusinessSupport platform.

In particular, fig businesses must submit, through myBusinessSupport, a certificate from the company’s chartered accountant-auditor that the business received figs in the year 2020 at a rate greater than 30% of its total receipts, either in terms of quantities or values, in order to complete the payment. This certificate is submitted until March 22, 2023 for applications submitted until December 15, 2022, as well as for applications submitted from March 16 to 20, 2023. The amount of aid for olive mills varies between 3,000 and 200,000 euros, while for fig businesses it is between 5,000 and 50,000 euros.

Those interested in joining the support scheme due to the frosts between 15 February and 20 April 2021 should submit an expression of interest from 9 to 13 March 2023. The conditions for inclusion in the aid scheme, further details on the form of the aid, the means, the amount, the determination methodology and the intensity of the aid, the conditions, the application process, the required data and supporting documents, the granting process aid, the obligations of the beneficiaries and any other related issue will be determined by a later decision.

Statement by Christos Triandopoulos

“The myBusinessSupport platform of the Independent Public Revenue Authority has been opened for the special support regimes for the olive mills that suffered financial losses from the fires of the summer of 2021, the fig processing, packaging, storage and marketing businesses of North Evia that suffered financial losses from the fires of 2021 and the businesses affected by the frosts of 2021, in continuation relevant recommendation by the Government Committee on State Aid and the publication of the joint decisions of the Ministers of Finance and Development and Investments.

In particular, the myBusinessSupport platform is being reactivated for support schemes for olive fruit and fig processing businesses, so that it is possible to submit expressions of interest and – subsequently – applications and supporting documents, as it was found that during the first phase, the beneficiaries did not submit an application or submitted incomplete supporting documents, resulting in their exclusion. At the same time, a new aid scheme (second cycle) for businesses affected by the frosts of 2021 is being activated for the areas identified by ELGA, with updated inclusion criteria and taking into account the possible inclusion of businesses in the first aid cycle completed in 2022. It is recalled that so far, a total of 131 businesses have received €7.6 million in support. euros, through all three special regimes.

Therefore, we invite the beneficiaries to submit the applications and the required supporting documents, in order to receive the support they deserve. Thanks to the relevant Ministers for promoting all the necessary procedures for the reactivation of the special support regimes”.
