The Brno Planets Festival was created in 2019 as an unobtrusive commemoration of the 50th anniversary of man landing on the moon. It quickly became the signature event, the most successful in terms of audience, but also the most organizationally complex event of the Brno Observatory and Planetarium. In 2020, a model of the planet Earth – Terralón was added to Lunalón, followed by Marsmeloun (2021), Heliosphere (2022), Temnalón (2023) and Astrosphere (2024). The festival is organized by the Brno Observatory and Planetarium and the artistic group VISUALOVE, with the contribution of the statutory city of Brno and the South Moravian Region. In addition, Kubíček Visionair, the city district of Brno-střed, the Transport Company of the City of Brno, the City Police of Brno, SAKO, the Kraví hora Recreational and Sports Complex, Teplárny Brno and Technology Park Brno are also participating in it. Media cooperation was offered by KAM for Culture, National Geographic Czech Republic, Regional Publishing House and SNIP & Co.
