The second phase includes the pedestrianization of Agia Sophia, from Tsimiski to Nikis Avenue. After the positive decision of the Green Fund for the financing of the project, the procedures for its tender start immediately.
The study, as reported by ertnews, for the pedestrianization of this particular section exists from the Boutari administration, at which time the section from Mackenzie King to Tsimiski was paved.
According to the study, the section from Tsimiski Street to Mitropoleos Street will have the character of a commercial pedestrian street, while the second, from Mitropoleos Street to Nikis Avenue, will be shaped as Mitropolis Square.
The financing of the project will take place in two phases and will be completed in 2025.
