The pianist Jordi Camell will present his new work Where the City Ends this Tuesday, March 19 at 6:00 p.m. in the Xavier Gols Room of the Tarragona Conservatory. This event is part of the activities to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Conservatory. This is a concert with free admission until capacity is exhausted.
Camell, who was a student at the Tarragona Conservatory between 1968-1979, a student of Professor Carme Flexas, presents an album in which he recorded his own piano pieces for the first time. In the booklet of this CD he himself writes: «Where the city ends is a personal notebook, a journey through some piano pieces that I have written over the years. In this project, I do not feel like a composer, nor an architect of musical structures, nor a creator of sounds never heard before, but rather a radiologist who contemplates the x-rays themselves from an ‘inward concentration’.
After performing their works, a discussion will be held among attendees to talk regarding the proposal and their years at the Conservatory.
The program that will be interpreted will be:
- Watermelon Road (1979)
- A long story (2012): Pensativo, Furioso, Lirico, Nostalgico
- Little Waltz (1988)
- Trac (2001)
- D (2020)
- Coach in the Snow (1988)
- Equip-o (2002)
