Fernando Gil Moreno (1975) is a popular film and television actor from Madrid who knew from the age of six that he wanted to dedicate himself to acting.
He enrolled in Sociology and shortly after he signed up for the Complutense Theater Classroom, where he would meet his teacher Antonio Malonda who would end up asking him to take the tests to access the Royal Higher School of Dramatic Art in Madrid. He was selected among 1,700 applicants and combined it with his university studies.
In 1997, he got his first film role, participating in the film Final Result. He was the first stone of a long path as an actor, with small roles in series such as Central Hospital and in 2004 he managed to host the program Noche H, where he interviewed stars such as Penélope Cruz, Bruce Willis and Pedro Almodóvar.
He has participated in many series such as Cuéntame How Passed (2006), Muchachada Nui (2007/08) or Felipe y Letizia (2011), playing Felipe VI.
The 48-year-old actor has had success abroad, landing the role of King Henry VIII, performing at The Globe Theater in London and in Los Angeles.
The night he was almost arrested for vandalizing a car
Fernando confessed in an interview on InfoLibre in 2020 that he was almost arrested for destroying a car that he had rented for a few hours. He had parked it and left the keys inside, although after a while he realized that his cell phone was also inside the vehicle: “The option of them renting my car again, with the cell phone inside, coming in and seeing it and keeping it “It was very big. At that moment I thought: ‘I can’t leave my phone here in the car.'”
And it occurred to him to break the window and then contact the company: “I said: ‘I break the window, I take my cell phone, I call the company, I tell them that I have had this problem, I pay them the moon and there is no problem'” . He grabbed some stones and smashed the window quickly and at that moment four police officers appeared.
“I was cornered by police! They were about to take the pipe. I was, according to their vision, trying to steal a car. I told them: ‘I had to get my cell phone back. It’s a thousand or so bucks that I spent on buying it and all my career is in there and all my contacts.’ They were very, very angry, and they answered me: ‘But, you have your cell phone in your hand!’ I tried to explain myself: ‘Yes, I have it in my hand because I just broke the phone.’ glass and I just picked it up from the ground. I swear, agent!'” he explained.
The agents contacted the company and were going to file a complaint, when a man approached: “He told us: ‘But, damn, that’s the doorman of the La Tira nightclub, right? The Anclados security guard!’ who played Felipe VI!’ That’s when I saw my salvation: ‘I’m all of them, man, thank you!’ So I started to half cry to avoid the complaint.”
“And they let me go fortunately because I was a comedian. Being a comedian saved me from being sued. I got the joke for a hundred and something euros for the repair of the moon. And I got my cell phone and my life back,” the story ends.

Fernando Gil is married to the actress, Michelle Marier, whom he met working together in the musical Tricicle. He is quite discreet about her and has not spoken excessively, as occurred in a talk with Vanitatis in 2014: “My particular queen is called Michelle Marier. We got married five years ago and we are parents of a girl. We met eight years ago when we worked together on a Tricicle musical. My wife is an actress and dancer and has Canadian nationality.”
