The implementation of policies to reinforce the technological ecosystem that allow the encouragement and creation of products and services for the population was defended, this Monday, by the executive director of the technology company Moxi, Carlos Pinto.

In an interview with ANGOP, as part of the review of the company Moxi’s participation in the Web Summit Qatar, which took place from the 26th to the 29th of February in Doha (Qatar), Carlos Pinto highlighted that “it is necessary to create mentoring companies for small entrepreneurs, venture capital companies that bet and make investments in the initial phase of a newly created company, as well as the regulation of startups”.

He considered the regulation of startups to be extremely important, in order to facilitate the positioning of the different actors in the sector’s ecosystem and facilitate the knowledge of who should license and certify.

According to the director, the country should look at the technology sector as an area that can contribute to solving various problems, in areas such as agriculture and education.

“Our strategy for other markets, at an international level, gained more life with participation in the Web Summit Qatar.

We have good prospects for how to enter and the Middle East will be the first step towards expanding our products”, he highlighted.

He added that, at the aforementioned event, the company Moxi exhibited an audio and video platform, integrated with content production, in which existing components were incorporated to create a new one.

In these three days of Web Summit Qatar, he indicated, they participated in seminars with directors and leaders of large technology industries, worldwide.

“We brought an advanced level of wisdom and experience, both in terms of technology and global trends in artificial intelligence”, he highlighted.

He said that in the short term the company will include artificial intelligence in its digital platform and many other companies should follow, as it is the trend in the sector.

He highlighted the importance of the participation of Angolan companies in events such as the one in Qatar, as it facilitates the exchange of experiences and partnership agreements, aiming at the growth of the technological sector in the country.

“We managed to form partnerships with companies from several countries such as Brazil, Portugal, Qatar, Japan and India, as well as there are businesspeople interested in bringing their product to Angola, through our company.

Services that we don’t have in the country”, he highlighted. The company Moxi has a summit platform that allows you to play audio, video and podcasts.

Four startups represented Angola at the Web Summit Qatar, which saw the participation of more than 50 thousand companies in what is considered one of the biggest events in this technology category in the world.

The Luanda Entrepreneur Academy participated in the Web Summit Qatar 2024, as a reference institution in supporting startups and promoting technology-based entrepreneurship, in search of new solutions and partnerships.
