On Tuesday at 17:56, the emergency services went to a campsite at the Swedish border following receiving a report of a stabbing.
– They quickly arrived at the scene and found a woman in her 60s who was badly injured, and life-saving first aid was carried out at the scene, said incident leader Arve Hermansen in the East police district to NTB on Tuesday evening.
A short time later, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin were notified of the death during the evening.
Consent to imprisonment
A man in his 50s was arrested at the scene and charged with the woman’s murder. On Wednesday morning, he agreed to remand, his defender Ann Turid Bugge informs TV 2.
Furthermore, Bugge states that she spoke to her client, but does not want to comment on how he reacts to the charge.
According to the plan, an interrogation of the man is to be carried out on Wednesday.

The police stated that they quickly got control of the man accused of murder on Tuesday.

Both those involved are Norwegian citizens, and the alleged perpetrator is known to the police.
Interrogating witnesses
There were several witnesses who are said to have heard of the incident at Stora Lee Camping in Aremark.
– It is clear that on a sunny day at a campsite in the followingnoon, there are many people who have caught the drama. We have a certain overview of who has been closest there, and are questioning some of those who testify, says task leader Hermansen to NTB.
A psychosocial team was also present from the municipality to get an overview of who has been exposed to the incident, he says.
The murder in Aremark is the 24th murder case in Norway so far this year, and the woman in her 60s is the 29th murder victim.
