Julio Blanco (Bardem) seems to be the perfect boss: competent, charismatic and very caring. As the owner of a family business for industrial scales, he is inspired by a belief in balance and justice. He is convinced that his word is law and makes his decisions solely for the good of the company. This has brought him wealth, respect and many awards.
Only one thing is still missing, the government’s “Award for Excellent Corporate Management”. This year it should finally work! But the glamorous façade begins to crumble when the company boss has to deal with a laid-off employee, a depressed production manager and an intern in love. In a grotesque race once morest the clock, he tries desperately to solve the problems of his employees – and in doing so crosses all sorts of moral boundaries.
