At 12:15 p.m., Bison Futé identified 1,083 kilometers of traffic jams in France. An hour later, this figure was down to 820 km. Qualified as “exceptional” by the interministerial body without however breaking the record of 1,086.5 km a year ago, the level of congestion was concentrated in particular in the west of the country on the A10 and in Auvergne-Rhône -Alps on the A7. The highways recorded 157.9 km and 181.3 km of disruption respectively at the height of the morning.
In the southwest
On the A10, motorists are already encountering difficulties heading south. At 1 p.m., it took 3:45 a.m. to Saint-Arnoult-Poitiers compared to 2:30 a.m. in normal times. Traffic is even more complicated between Poitiers and Bordeaux with a journey time almost doubled (3 h 45 once morest 2 hours).
On the A63, traffic jams are also to be noted in the direction of the south. It takes 2h35 by road to reach the Spanish border from Bordeaux compared to 1h55 in normal times. In the Spain-Bordeaux direction, it also becomes denser at Salles. Motorists take 3h20 (instead of 1h55) to reach the ring road of Bordeaux from the Basque Country.
Difficulties also to be expected on the A62 in the Toulouse-Bordeaux direction following an accident near Villenave-d’Ornon.
On the Bordeaux ring road, major traffic jams have formed between Lormont and Villenave-d’Ornon in both directions. An accident between three vehicles near Tresses on the inner ring road complicates the situation.
Difficult traffic until 8 p.m.
At the same time, in Rhône-Alpes-Auvergne, Vinci also indicated that on the Autoroute du Soleil, road users had to drive 4:15 hours instead of 1:35 hours normally to reach Orange from the south. from Lyon. In the opposite direction, they had to add 1h20.
On the Mediterranean arc, the difficulties were mainly concentrated on the A9 with a travel time of 2h55 instead of 1h40 to get to Narbonne.
Even if the peak of traffic jams has been reached, the difficulties will remain very high until 8 p.m., warns Bison Futé.
To escape slowdowns, the public road information service advises motorists to leave or cross Île-de-France following noon, and to avoid the A71 motorway, between Orléans and Clermont-Ferrand, from 9 a.m. at 12 p.m., as well as the A8, between Aix-en-Provence and Nice, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
