PC players are no longer the strongest force in Diablo 4. Since its release on Game Pass, Xbox has taken over. Surprising? There were some controversies between Blizzard and PC players at the time of release, such as the one regarding inventory.
According to Joseph Piepiora, Diablo 4’s deputy game director, the reason behind the decision to keep the inventory small is that it would significantly slow down the game on PC. These and other decisions have angered PC gamers and now Blizzard’s new owner Microsoft is saying that the PC has been displaced in Diablo 4. At its core, Diablo was and is actually a PC series.
Microsoft added Diablo 4 to Game Pass on March 28th, but that didn’t significantly change the number of players on the PC. We’ve added Diablo 4 to Game Pass, and Xbox has quickly become the premier platform for Diablo 4 players,” said Sara Bond, President of Xbox.
Can PC gamers get excited regarding Diablo 4 once more? Only time will tell.
