The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francophonie and Central Africans Abroad of the Central African Republic, Mrs. Sylvie BAIPO TEMON paid a working visit to Lomé on April 29, 2023.

In Lomé, Minister BAIPO TEMON was received in audience by the Togolese Head of State Faure Gnassingbe to whom she conveyed the greetings of her Central African counterpart Prof. Faustin-Archange TOUADERA (President of the Central African Republic).

According to a note from the Togolese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Sylvie BAIPO TEMON and Prof. Robert Dussey welcomed the good relations of friendship and cordial understanding that exist between the two countries and reaffirmed their determination to work closely for their consolidation and their diversification in the mutual interest of the respective populations.

“The two personalities are committed to intensifying multifaceted cooperation relations and to contributing to the consolidation of ties between the brotherly Central African and Togolese peoples in harmony with the ideals of the African Union. In this regard, they insisted on the need to put in place a legal framework for cooperation which might allow the signing of cooperation agreements in the economic and commercial fields, in particular the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments, avoidance of double taxation and relations between the chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries,” the document states.

In addition, the two ministers welcomed the signing on July 29, 2018, of the visa exemption agreement for the benefit of nationals of the two countries holding diplomatic, service and ordinary passports and welcomed the project to launch the African Political Alliance (APA) scheduled for Lomé, May 03, 2023.

It should be noted that Togo and the Central African Republic are developing a multifaceted partnership, particularly in the diplomatic field and in the air transport and trade sectors.
